Last week was truly exceptional…
Can anyone have too much fun, bliss and live a life of hedonism?
This week was filled with Champagne, Canapés, great food and wines, wonderful places and views, massages, haircut, manicure, more Grand Champagne and meet and greet fascinating people.
Is it wrong to do so in austere time? Well, sometimes one has to come out and let the steam go and really let your hair down, get pampered and enjoy each others company.
I get people together and make it happen.
Monday started at the Dr Ariel Haus Clinic in Harley Street where he treated to a chemical peel, nothing to horrendous, to the contrary this rejuvenate your skin and shave away the years, I was told later in the week that I looked in my early thirties and for those of you who know me well, well, I am 46 and never hid my age away. However some people are wondering where is the portrait in the attic…By the way, you can get 30% off his fees when mentioning my name...
Tuesday I tasted the menu for the Belgian Ball followed by another Taste of Belgium where many brewers and food manufacturer were presenting their food and drinks from Belgium in the evening but in the afternoon I went to see Neil and Eve at Taylors of Old Bond Street (in Jermyn Street) for a haircut and a manicure, this duo has treated me well for several years already and always feel good when coming out of the barber’s chair.
Wednesday I went to Cleo Clinic for a Thai massage where they are using exclusively the Elemis Products so that I can talk about them as they asked me to do their launch on the 7th April so look out for your invitation. Following this I was invited by Aperitif Dinatoire at the ‘Il Bottaccio’ in the afternoon to meet a few Champagne winemakers and taste their fantastic Grand Cru Champagne with great taste and amazing complexity. This professional tasting was followed by more tasting with the selected few from the Button Club in the evening and followed by dancing till the early hours.
Thursday, after visiting some friend’s penthouse in Westminster with stunning views of the main sites of London (more Champagne and canapés) I went sky high to host the Gay Professional Network that enjoyed the very generous hospitality and fantastic views of the Altitude 360 London at the 29th Floor of the Millbank Tower.
Champagne, wines, other drinks and plenty very tasty canapés flowed throughout the evening and Brett Taylor, Chief Executive of The London Business Network, talked about the opportunities that SME have with the impending Olympic Games, many other people had the opportunity to come and speak about their businesses and aspirations and all had a great time. Quite a few people were interested to use the venue for their events and enquiries are flowing toward Peter Kerwood, the Marketing Director who was named in the influential people in a professional magazine that I read recently.
After such a week you will understand that I needed to relax and nothing could have been more of a treat than this hour and a half massage concluded by yet more Champagne at the expert hands of Mario Prevost of the Fit Box, not a cheap feast but well worth the treat, Mario has the knack of completely relaxing you and feeling refreshed and invigorated. After being scrubbed, massaged, kneaded and feeling of total trust in the skillful hands of Mario.
This was a perfect end to a busy week that was spent in late night out, all for work of course.
I am now looking forward to the Belgian Ball next Saturday Black and White and masked... There are still a few places left so hurry if you want to join my tables. Check out http://jeanfrancoisdor.blogspot.com on a regular basis for any updates for parties coming up soon.
